I totally agree, but the next question is does the hospital state that a specialist may be called in and that Dr may not be contracted with your carrier? Not the last time I took a kid to the ER.
The registration people are barely polite and shuffle you thru so fast that you wonder what the h3ll you just signed.
What would you do, besides verifying ins etc? Would you go to the hospital yourself (or a biller) and give the financial policy info the to pt or next of kin? When all the charges are entered and you bill the pt send the policy then? I will not ever see some as they die or will not ever need to be seen in the office.
I just hate lost revenue as I see it as lost income to me.
